About Us
Herd House Riding School has been running since 1990. We teach from beginners to much more advanced riders. All beginners learn the basic control and communication with the horse or pony in the large indoor arena. We keep clients of the same level on the same classes. This is safer as less experienced riders are not trying to catch up with more experienced ones, and the more advanced rider is not held back by beginners that slow down the activity of the ride. The very nervous rider we encourage and help them progress at there own pace.
At Herd House we specialise in the balance of the rider
All the horses and ponies are well schooled for beginners, but will work to a higher level for the more advanced rider, we have horses that do lateral work and will jump over a 1.20m
We hack out over the open country side with rides from 1 hour to a full day. All new riders who wish to hack out must ride a short assessment in the indoor school. To get the feel of the horse or pony they are sat on and to give us the time to assess there capability

RDA
We run special classes for riders with special needs, if a rider is capable of riding on an ordinary lesson they can. As we encourage all riders to ride to the best of their ability. For riders with balance and confidence issues, we have saddles with extra leg straps, handles and a deep seat. These saddles offer a lot of security for the rider.The cost of a special need lesson is the same as other lessons.
