This is MEG! She is 5 years old and 13.1 HH high. She came to Herd House in March 2014. She is a very kind pony, who loves to be groomed and stands still enjoying the moment.

Meg is good to ride, and still learning. She will stand at the mounting block. Will go at the front of the ride, or in the middle. She had just started doing little jumps and loves doing them too. Meg has an admirer too. Hi name is Snowy!

Spirit is 17 years Old and 14.2hh high. She came to Herd House at the age of 2 as a livery. She was loaned to the riding school for a while but is now owned by the riding school. She competed at riding club in jumping classes and still loves to jump. Spirit is ridden be beginners on a lead rein and the better riders off the lead rein. For the RDA, she carries one of our special saddles. She had a foal about 8 years ago, and was a very good mum.

Snowy came to Herd House as a 2 year old, he is now 25 and still going strong, he is 11hh but thinks he is 18hh because in the field he is the boss and he lets all the newbie’s know it! He is ridden by our little riders both on and off the read rein. He mainly does the beginner rides now but ask some of our older riders who taught you the most; they all say Snowy! Due to him being so cheeky he made the riders pay attention in what they were doing. He is never really naughty or nasty and when the riders finish there ride he will let then cuddle him if they want. He also does RDA lesson for tiny riders, and will stand still and let beginners or nervous children handle and groom him to get confident round a pony. Everybody loves Snowy!

This is Nelly. She is 9 years old and 15.1 hh high. She is a cob type horse with a nice temprement and smooth ride with a big stride. She is used for the better adults. Nelly has just started doing little jumps! Before she came to Herd House she had not done any jumping so this is a big achievement. She is good to ride out and will go first or last in the ride. She is good to groom, but can figget when being tacked up.

Rosebud

Ellarslea Rosebud is a registered pony with the National Pony Society. A stud book for riding pony improvement. She is very well bred with a lot of famous names in her pedigree. She is 21 years old and stands 12.2hh. She has been at Herd House since she was 6 years old. She likes carrying the little riders best and is very good with them. She will ride lead in a lesson with a small child on board so long as she is getting some instruction from them but will happily follow if the rider is less experienced. She loves to jump, and when younger has cleared over a meter with a rider! Inthe winter she likes a canter round before being ridden. After her canter round she relaxes and concentrates better. She is a big favourite with the children because she is so willing to do her job and is easy to get going but has never run off with a child on.

Murphy

Fergie

Murphy's Law aka Murphy is a Connemara pony and has been at Herd House for 6 years now. He is 18 years old and 14.1hh high. He is very conforming and does all that is asked of him. He rides out as lead horse, or will go in the ride, He jumps, carries beginners, the better riders, and does RDA work

He is a lovely all round pony and is a favourite pony for lots of riders, He is well mannered in the stable, and good to handle what ever you are doing

This is Lotty. She is a registered Welsh section A pony. Her full name is Shamrocklake Bright Cholette! She belongs to Liana and competes in lead rein classes. The first show she went to was Trawden Agricultural Show where she was 3 out of 6. She also works in the school and is ridden both on and off the lead rein. Lotty came to herd House in July 2014. She is very kind in the stable and 4 year old Ilana grooms her and oils her hoofs.

This is Ferguson, better know as Fergie. He is 14hh high and 12 years old. Fergie was gifted to Herd House for RDA and other riding and has been at Herd House for 5 years now. He is a wonderful pony, does a lot of our RDA work, and is very trustworthy with beginners and riders with a disability. He will stand still and nearly fall asleep when being groomed He handles beginners, hacks out and is very good in traffic. You would not think it but he does jump and absolutely loves it. He has lots of hair and a very thick tail!
